Our Mission:

to enable those living with Dementia to live a full and purposeful life while remaining in the place they call home.

Welcome to New Hope Dementia Solutions

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) an estimated 50 million people are living with dementia, with nearly 10 million new cases every year.  Dementia is one of the major causes of disability and dependency among older people world wide and is recognized as a public health priority by the WHO.  The total number of people with dementia is projected to reach 82 million by 2030 and 152 million by 2050.  Dementia can be overwhelming, causing physical, emotional and financial pressures.  According to a 2017 report from the Alzheimer’s Association, 83% of the help provided to older adults in the U.S. come from family members, friends, and other unpaid caregivers.  The average total cost of care for a person with dementia over the last five years of their life is $366,593.  When families and caregivers are faced with the difficult decision of placing a loved one in a nursing home, the cost of care exponentially increases.  According to published reports, the average cost of a private room in a nursing home in Pennsylvania is $129,940 per year.

There is no treatment currently available to cure dementia or to alter its progressive course.  Research is still evolving, but data from a 2014 study found that people who participated in home based dementia care programs were able to remain in their homes longer than those who did not participate in home based programs.

Our proactive approach at New Hope Dementia Solutions is simple.  We offer people living with dementia individualized solutions that may assist them in safely remaining in their home and communities, while minimizing caregiver stress.  As Certified Dementia Practitioners with backgrounds in rehabilitation,  each individualized plan that we develop is person-centered and evidence-based. With over 40 years of combined experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist and Physical Therapist, our passion for better understanding dementia has evolved our approach that combines mind, body and spirit, not only for those living with dementia, but their caregivers as well.
